What is conversation?

This works best in Explorer so far

Conversation is a system of communicating ideas. There is no perfect way to communicate but there are better and more effective ways to communicate.

This book starts with 100 words. They are specific categories of words, from which you will build conversations. The categories of words are TIME, ACTION, MOTION, and EMOTION. You can view support powerpoint files in the right column.

Once you have acheived that you can move to the second section, where you choose words from each section and make sentences. Later you will organize youR sentences into a paragraph.

Continue working through the book to find how this works together in making conversations. Conversations work great when you communicate these first four (4) categories.

Another way to get conversation working for you is to work on your CONVERSATION IQ. Conversation IQ is not in the book, as it was developed later.

Conversation IQ is about adding information to your questions. This small addition will help you be more engaging and successful, in your conversation. Preparing for a conversation is important.

A strategy to help you may use is to make a list of 20 questions, including an approach section. Then add your information. This IQ strategy, if you put it on paper, will give you most of the answers, at your finger tips. This will help you 5x5 writing plan 1 with audiobe more confident and engaging. You will discover the time will go so fast you will surprise yourself.

As you move through the cpnversations, be sure you watch the animations. They are found at the top of the left column. They will help you understand how each conversation works. you can make your using goanimate.com. It is a free site, so you can have fun making ocnversations. You can record yourself as weil. Hearing yoursefl will help you practice and perhaps a good laugh.

A point in time - is another section of small words. Small words are sometimes left out when speaking. They are important when communicating. They are also important to catch when you listen to another. Understanding that small words communicate direction and position will help you use them.

The steak, potatoe, and garnish is about how each part of a sentence works together, for communication. When you order a steak it is the key part of your meal. The potatoe you choose complements the steak.the garnish is about how it looks. Conversation is also about this sequence. you choose the topic to talk about. The other things you talk about expand the topic. the small words you use, make your communication polite, easy to listen to, and overall enjoy.

As you move to the end, you will learn how to write an easy essay. I call it the 5 x 5 plan. Many students have trouble on writing tests, because they spend too much time thinking and not writing. Using this plan you can build a quick outline and spendamore time writing and correcting. You can also use outlining when you are practicing listening.

Listen to the key ideas first and as you get better add more to the outline. I know you can do it.
